Thanks for stopping by!  This blog was created way back on December 30, 2009 as an avenue to connect, share, discover, encourage, vent, and have a little fun with teaching.  Teaching can't happen without learning and learning can't happen without teaching...thus the decision for the blog's name.  As education changes and evolves, it leaves me bum-fuzzled on what to do, where to turn, and how to focus.  After leaving the blogging scene for over 3 years, I have decided to try my hand at this new venture again.

Beginning 2013-14 school year will be my 14th year to serve children, parents, and my community.  While building this blog over the next several months, my goal is to reach other children, parents, and teachers outside my community.  I've recently made the decision to obtain a Masters degree in Speech Pathology.  This decision came after several discouraging years in the public school system and a very uplifting tour of a Deaf and Blind School.  Oh, I LOVE to teach...and I will continue to teach, only I will have A, ONE, SINGLE, SOLITARY focus - to improve communication skills for those children with some type of deficit.  Communication...that's what our world thrives upon.

I am a teacher, but I am first and foremost a very blessed WIFE and MOM of four rapidly growing, precious children (aka yard monkeys/apes).  They constantly keep me moving even when my "get up and go has got up and went".  These four bundles of blessings are another reason I have chosen a small detour in my career path and to revamp this blog.

I like teaching, ice cream, the beach, sunrises, sunsets, lazy summer days, blueberries, ice cream, the beach, gardening, creating, getting good deals, photography, God's Glory, having fun...  And, did I mention ice cream?  What about the beach?
